save image (jpeg) badly compressed

I use a screen grab event followed by Save Image.
Save Image in Png format works fine but the file size is too big for my purpose.
save image in Jpg results in artifacts as per the attached image

cant find any documentation on ES3 with regards to codec used, please advise thanks

Hi there,

You can change the 'quality' parameter of the ES3.SaveImage method to improve image quality. 100 is max quality and 0 is minimum quality.

Just to clarify, we use Unity's JPEG compression.

All the best,
Joel

Hi there, thanks but still a bit confused,
The quality setting is not enabled in playmaker and there is no syntax explainer to run a script for this option.

Hi there,

Are you sure you're on the latest version of Easy Save? The quality field is definitely there in the PlayMaker actions for us.

All the best,
Joel

there were errors in the update so I deleted the plugin folder, did a fresh download/install , i am getting the same errors re playmaker event specifically to save.image , the event does eventually load but the quality option is not visible

unity 2020.2.0f1
ES3 : 3.3.2f5

Hi there,

Please could you replicate this in a new, empty project and private message it to me? I don't appear to be getting any errors at my end.

All the best,
Joel
